Changan has launched two electric SUVs back-to-back in the UK over the course of the last six months: Deepal S05 and Deepal S07. The company, as per Autocar UK, has confirmed that its next big launch will be the Nevo Q05, albeit with a different name, the Changan E06.
Following our time with the near-production concept last year, we recently had a chance to check out the Changan E06 in the global spec model in person and take a deep dive into its styling, quality, comfort, and various other key aspects. Here are our thoughts about the upcoming EV:
Design

The Changan E06 features a trendy and futuristic exterior in a compact footprint. Sleek, three-element daytime running lights give it an assertive look at the front, while a fully covered nose section makes it immediately recognisable as an EV.
The main lights are positioned lower in the bumper, and a single A-shaped grille serves the cooling needs of the electrical components.
The E06 has a busy side profile with smooth contours along the quarter panels and doors, a sloping roofline, a swiftly rising beltline, and curvy door mirrors. The left-side front quarter panel integrates a flap that secures the charging port. Semi-recessed door handles add to the clean appearance. At the rear, the tail lights stretch across the width of the vehicle.
Interior

The interior of the Changan E06 follows an ultra-minimalist layout, with a design that’s common in Chinese EVs. The dashboard uses a sleek, curvilinear form and extends into the front door panels along a continuous horizontal line, maintaining a consistent design. It features two slim AC vents and two displays: a 10.17-inch instrument cluster and a 15.6-inch infotainment touchscreen.
The centre console integrates two AC vents, climate control buttons, two smartphone trays, two cupholders, and a storage box. There is an air-cooled 50 W wireless charger, but it is positioned on the passenger side instead of the driver side.
Experience in the Changan E06

As a 5’7″ tall person, I had no issue with either the ingress or the egress in the Changan E06. The front seats offer about six and a half inches of headroom. Back and under-thigh support are good, while the seats themselves are wide with adequate shoulder support. Visibility remains clear at the front, sides, and rear.
Material quality is a pleasant surprise. Soft-touch surfaces cover the steering wheel, dashboard, and most key touchpoints, giving the cabin a more premium feel than expected for the segment. Ergonomics is the main drawback, as most functions rely on the touchscreen. Even the sunroof requires swipe inputs to open and close, which feels unnecessarily complicated.

At the rear, the flat floor frees up space. With the front seat set to my position, kneeroom exceeds 10 inches. Back and shoulder support are good, and the seats offer a two-step recline. Headroom measures around five to six inches.
Features include a USB Type-A port, an AC vent, and three seatback pockets on each side, two small ones on the top for articles like a phone or a pen, and a wide one below for larger items.
Specifications

The Changan E06 measures 4,435 mm in length, 1,855 mm in width, and 1,600 mm in height and has a 2,735 mm wheelbase. It has a 200 kW electric motor mounted at the front, powered by a 61.7 kWh LFP battery pack.
The battery pack supports charging at up to 11 kW via an AC charger and up to 162 kW via a DC charger. It delivers a range of up to 450 kilometres (280 miles), as per WLTP.

Release date & price
As per the previously cited Autocar report, Changan plans to launch the E06 in the UK in early 2027 and will likely price it just under GBP 30,000. The new model would challenge the Skoda Elroq, Kia EV3, Volvo EX30, and Renault Scenic E-Tech.
