The Chery Tiggo 9 CSH is the brand’s largest and most expensive SUV in the UK. This seven-seat plug-in hybrid sits above the Tiggo 8 and is offered exclusively in a fully loaded Summit specification.
We just had the opportunity to experience the space, comfort, and tech of the global-spec Tiggo 9 CSH, and here are our observations of the electrified flagship SUV.
Design

The Chery Tiggo 9 CSH has an upright front end defined by a large grille with chrome-effect vertical inserts, and slim LED headlights, which flank the grille. Prominent lower intakes, concentric C-shaped DRLs and a sculpted bonnet, we felt, give it the air of a German import!
Its side profile features flush door handles, contrasting window surrounds, a beltline that kicks up towards the rear, and pronounced rear haunches that are executed cleanly. High-strength roof rails and 20-inch bright-machined alloy wheels with 245/50 R20 tyres are standard on the UK-spec Summit.

At the rear, diamond-pattern LED lights are connected by a full-width illuminated bar, and we surely aren’t alone in thinking the layout is reminiscent of the Cayenne. Dynamic indicators are fitted at both ends, while the exterior lighting performs a welcome sequence when the vehicle is unlocked, which is a nice touch.
Interior
The Tiggo 9 CSH has a 2+3+2 seating layout with leather upholstery. Both front seats feature six-way electric adjustment, heating, ventilation and massage functions. The driver additionally receives four-way electric lumbar adjustment, position memory and an easy-entry function.

Heating and ventilation are also provided for the manually adjustable second-row seats. One-touch access makes it easier to reach the third row, where the two seats offer adjustable backrests and can be folded flat manually. Retractable sunshades are installed on the second-row windows.
A 15.6-inch infotainment touchscreen is accompanied by a 10.25-inch digital instrument display. The system uses a Qualcomm 8155 processor and includes online navigation, over-the-air updates, the “Hello Chery” voice assistant, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
Other standard features include a 14-speaker Sony audio system, a 50-watt wireless phone charger, multicolour ambient lighting, a panoramic sunroof and an electrically operated sunblind. Dual-zone climate control is supplemented by dedicated controls and air vents for the second row.
Boot capacity stands at 143 litres with all seven seats raised and 819 litres when the third row is folded. Lowering both rear seating rows increases the available capacity to 2,065 litres.

Specifications
The Tiggo 9 CSH measures 4,810 mm in length, 1,925 mm in width excluding the mirrors and 1,741 mm in height. Its ground clearance stands at 147 mm.
The UK-spec model combines a turbocharged 1.5-litre petrol engine with a three-speed Dedicated Hybrid Transmission and an all-wheel-drive system. Combined output reaches 315 kW (428 PS), while maximum torque is 580 Nm.
The powertrain enables the seven-seat SUV to accelerate from 0-62 mph in 5.4 seconds and reach a top speed of 112 mph (180 km/h). Drivers can select between Eco, Normal, Sport, Snow, Sand and Off-road driving modes.

A 34.4 kWh battery provides a WLTP electric range of 87 miles (140 km). Chery also claims a combined petrol and electric driving range of up to 650 miles (1,046 km), helped by a 70-litre fuel tank.
The Tiggo 9 CSH supports DC charging at up to 71 kW, allowing the battery to charge from 30-80% in approximately 20 minutes. Its official weighted fuel economy figure is 470 mpg, while CO2 emissions are rated at 14 g/km.
The UK model can tow a braked trailer weighing up to 1,500 kg. Its safety specification includes ten airbags, a 540-degree camera system, adaptive cruise control, highway assistance, traffic-jam assistance, autonomous parking, blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert.
