Chery Auto has already launched cars from the Chery, Omoda, and Jaecoo brands in the UK. Next year, it is likely to introduce off-road-focused and premium models from the iCaur and Exeed brands, respectively.
Recently, we got up close with the Exeed Tianji Vision Concept, a well-received show car which could evolve into a Range Rover-style electrified SUV, positioned as the flagship vehicle in the Exlantix series, above the ET9.
Design
The Exeed Tianji Vision Concept is 5.3 metres long, 2 metres wide, and 1.9 metres tall and has a 3.2-metre wheelbase. The dimensions are roughly the same as those of the long-wheelbase Range Rover. Not just the dimensions, key design elements like the headlamps and tail lamps also show hints of JLR’s flagship model.

The headlamps have a slim form factor that recall the Range Rover Sport and feature a similar four-eyed look. The four modules are part of the daytime running light setup, and when the main low- and high-beam lights are needed, they slide down and two modules present themselves from behind. Interestingly, the latter feature a U-shape and are reminiscent of the full-size Range Rover’s headlamps.
At the rear, the split tailgate again is a feature inspired by JLR’s full-size SUV. Apart from these similarities, we observed that the concept establishes its own identity with a more blocky, traditional SUV form, in contrast to the Range Rover’s cleaner and streamlined design approach.

The illuminated grille, twin power domes, rugged eight double-spoke wheels, and the full-width double light bar connecting the tail lamps contrast with the clean bodywork, lending the concept car a more off-road-focused look. The four compact auxiliary lights integrated into the wheel arches help reinforce this theme.
Interior
The Exeed Tianji Vision Concept features electronically extending two-step running boards on each side, hidden within the side sills when not in use. Together with a suicide-door layout, which is doubtful on the production car, this setup creates a dramatic entry and exit experience for passengers.

The concept has a truly minimalist interior, most evident in its clean dashboard, which omits conventional screens and physical controls altogether. A full-width, slim opening runs across the fascia, likely serving as a concealed air conditioning vent.
A U-shaped steering yoke and a full-width windscreen projection system, appearing more advanced than BMW Panoramic Vision, give it a futuristic vibe. Reinforcing this impression is a sleek touchscreen infotainment display that slides out from the centre console when required.
The cabin is completed by a circular panoramic glass roof. It is framed by an illuminated ring that creates a skylight-like effect and reinforces the concept’s lounge-inspired, futuristic design. It accommodates six people in a 2+2+2 layout.
Specifications
Unveiling the car at the 2025 Shanghai International Show on April 23, 2025, Huang Zhaogen, assistant to the president of Chery Automobile Co., Ltd, confirmed that the Exeed Tianji Vision Concept is built on the E0X_L platform.

The production model planned in both battery-electric (BEV) and range-extender electric (EREV) configurations. The pure-electric variant will use a 1,000-volt electrical architecture paired with an 880 kW (1,180 bhp) quad-motor drive system.
The range-extender electric variant will have impressive specs as well, featuring an 800-volt electrical architecture and delivering 186 miles of pure electric range and up to 1,243 miles of combined range.
The road-ready SUV will be equipped with a fully active suspension to deliver good ride quality and a 7-degree rear-wheel steering system that reduces the turning circle to less than 10.8 metres.
Targeting capability levels comparable to the Land Rover Defender, Chery Auto is aiming for a maximum water-wading depth of 900 mm and a gradeability of up to 45 degrees, along with an in-house intelligent all-terrain system.
Release date
The Exeed Tianji Vision Concept’s production model could go on sale in China next year, but a UK launch, if planned, may only take place in 2027-28 at the earliest.
