This Fisker Ocean off-roader could head into production in 2022

With the launch and deliveries of the Fisker Ocean electric SUV set to begin in 2022, Founder and CEO Henrik Fisker has been posting versions of the SUV that are possible. Following the the Fisker Alaska pickup we know nothing about, now comes the Force E rescue vehicle.

The Ocean Force E has been designed as a rescue vehicle that can be used for applications by military, police and organizations like the UN. The Force E is expected to be offered as a package and will be available only with the four-wheel-drive versions. The rescue special vehicle will feature upgraded suspension with additional lift, additional lights on front bumper, protective scuff plates, off-road spec wheels and tyres, roof rack with lights, spare tyre integrated in the hood, drinking water tank, front tow hooks, power plug box, rear hatch tool, a more rugged interior and more.

Fisker has said that a driving prototype of the Force E will be ready next year which is when more information will be shared about its release. Fisker has already announced that the regular Ocean SUV’s production will begin in the fourth quarter of 2021 and deliveries in 2022. The four-wheel-drive version of the regular Ocean will make more than 225 kW (300 hp) and will sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in less than three seconds. The actual output may differ and will be announced in 2021. The 80 kWh battery with the range of 480 km too is not finalized and the exact numbers will be revealed in 2021. The Ocean also supports fast charging and can be charged to 320 km capacity in just 30 minutes.

Earlier this month Henrik Fisker posted a single image of the bulked-up off-road version of the Ocean, which we now know as the Force E. While the overall shape remains the same, the off-roader gets a set of wide knobbly tyres fit for rough terrains, wider tracks to fit them into, underbody protection plates, bigger wheel arches, roof rack holding, a spare tyre, etc.

Talking about the Force E, Mr Henrik Fisker had said that the Ocean is a clean sustainable utility vehicle and with the low centre of gravity and wide track, and the off-road version will be perfect for use by international organizations for rural rescue missions. He suggested that the electric SUV can be used as a zero emission transport vehicle for military personnel in the new avatar. However we do see celebrities and A-listers arriving at movie premieres, parties and award functions in the larger-than-life Ocean variant which comes with no risk of attracting a pummeling from environmental activists!

Fisker unveiled the Ocean electric SUV at the 2020 CES in Las Vegas and has been seen in a couple of videos released by the company. There will also be a performance version that can go from 0 to 100 km/h in under 3 seconds.

Henrik Fisker has confirmed that the Ocean will be launched in India, and it is expected in 2022.
