The first deliveries of the EV6 in the Swiss market are slated for the end of the year whereas the top-end EV6 GT will reach Swiss showrooms only towards the end of 2022. Prices for the Kia EV6 in Switzerland start at 49,950 CHF (RWD 58 kWh), and steadily increase to 54,450 CHF (RWD 77.4 kWh) whereas the AWD models start at 55,950 CHF (58 kWh) and extend to 60,950 CHF (77.4 kWh). The EV6 GT Line costs 66,950 CHF (available only in the AWD 77.4 kWh spec) and the top-of-the-line EV6 GT will cost 75,950 CHF.

The Kia EV6 uses the same platform as the Hyundai Ioniq 5, which has a starting price of 44,900 CHF. The E-GMP platform allows for an 800V system architecture which accommodates 350 kW charging enabling users to charge their EV6 from 10 per cent to 80 per cent in just 18 minutes.

The EV6 RWD 58 kWh model has a range of 394 km, and the 77.4 kWh EV6 takes this to 528 km (the longest range offered on the Kia EV6). The AWD 58 kWh EV6 sees 371 km and the AWD 77.4 kWh goes 506 km. The GT Line AWD EV6 sees the range drop to 484 km while the most powerful EV6 GT is good for 406 km (all figures as per WLTP standards). The reason for the EV6 GT Line’s 22 km reduced range over the equivalent AWD EV6 is due to the 20-inch wheels on the former as compared to the standard 19-inch wheels.

Enthusiasts will be pleased to note that the Kia EV6 GT does 0-100 km/h in 3.5 seconds, and even the EV6 AWD 77.4 kWh takes only 5.2 seconds. The base EV6 RWD takes 8.5 seconds. All variants of the EV6 can hit a top speed of 185 km/h save for the EV6 GT which does 260 km/h.

Kia to sell only EVs by 2035

Kia revealed earlier this week that it plans on selling only electric cars in Europe by 2035, and become a carbon neutral company by 2045. The Kia EV9 Concept builds on the E-GMP platform to offer a large SUV in 2023 and will be showcased at the LA Auto Show which opens its doors on November 19, 2021.
