Malaysia will have its first electric motorcycle this November [Update]

Chinese brand Super Soco appears to be preparing its entry into Malaysia and has made what is believed to be their Malaysian website live, though it has not been listed with the products planned for the market. We are also able to see social media accounts for Super Soco Malaysia with media uploads showing its electric motorcycle, and we’re verifying if these are official accounts.

Paultan has reported that Super Soco will be officially launched by November 2020 in Malaysia and the products are currently undergoing local testing and data collection, and is pending Malaysian Vehicle Type Approval. The entire range of Super Soco’s electric scooters and motorcycles are believed to be gearing up for the launch. Prices will be similar to Europe and is expected to start from RM 15,247 for the CUx and RM 20,333 for the TC.

Owned by VmotoSoco Group, Super Soco has marked its presence across Asia and Europe with products designed with desirable form and function. Super Soco currently has electric scooters (CPX, VS1 and CUx) and motorcycles (TC, TC Max, TS and TSX) in its portfolio. The CUx is the latest addition and is driven by a Bosch 1600W motor. It can achieve a top speed of 45 km/h and travel up to 75 km in a single charge. The 32 Ah lithium battery can be charged in eight hours to full capacity and with a fast charger, it takes 3.5 hours.

Super Soco has also launched a CUx Ducati Edition, a special edition designed through a license agreement between Super Soco and Ducati. Though there is no technical contribution from Ducati, the CUx Ducati Edition comes finished in the iconic red colour of Ducati. Features remain the same as the regular CUx.

The company has been lauded as a hero in the UK as it announced a 10 percent discount for essential workers purchasing any of its products battling the Coronavirus pandemic. Not just the risk of transmission of the COVID-19 by not relying on public transport, some of staff are able to reach their workplace faster on a scooter or motorcycle.

Super Soco’s TSX model is a model familiar to India through Revolt Motors. Powered by a Bosch 1900W motor, the TSX can return a range of up to 75 km per charge and has a top speed of 45 km/h. Charging takes between 6.5 to 7.5 hours and 3.5 hours with fast charging.

In India, Revolt Motors has tied up with Super Soco to source components for the RV300 and RV400 electric motorcycles which has been on sale since last year in a few metro cities. Super Soco’s CUx scooter will be sold by Bird Electric next year as the the ES1+, as showcased at the Auto Expo.
