The Zeekr Mix is an all-electric, compact minivan developed on Zeekr’s SEA-M electric vehicle architecture. The model debuted in 2024 and represents the first production application of the SEA-M platform.
Although the Zeekr Mix is not planned for launch in the UK, we spent time with it in the global specification to assess whether it is a product UK buyers may be missing out on.
Design
The exterior design of the Zeekr Mix follows a pod-style form prioritising space efficiency and ease of access. At the front, the vehicle uses a closed fascia layout with a black, spectacle-style element that integrates the headlamps. The bonnet is short and flows directly into the windscreen.
From the side, the Zeekr Mix adopts a one-box body configuration. The body integrates dual sliding doors at both the front and rear, replacing traditional fixed B-pillars. A concealed dual B-pillar structure is built into the doors themselves.
At the rear, the Mix features a slim horizontal LED light bar positioned across the width of the rear panel at the base of the rear glass. The lower bumper is finished in gloss black and houses the sensors, number plate mounting area, and corner-mounted reflectors.
Gloss black exterior trim is used throughout the vehicle on the wheel arches, side skirts, and lower bumper sections. In the Chinese market, available exterior colours include teal, grey, white, beige, and purple. Nineteen-inch wheels are standard, with optional 20-inch wheels offered with a unique design.
Interior
The cabin layout focuses on flexibility and space. The front seats can rotate by up to 270 degrees, allowing for multiple seating and usage configurations. The centre console is also movable, supporting different interior layouts.
Infotainment functions are handled by a 15-inch OLED touchscreen, while driver information is displayed on a 13-inch LCD screen. An augmented reality head-up display is standard across all trims.
Seating is upholstered in Nappa leather on all versions, with heating, ventilation, and massage functions available for both rows. Multiple USB-C charging ports are provided for front and rear occupants, with wireless charging pads available for those in the front seats.
Experience in the Zeekr Mix
Getting into the Zeekr Mix highlights its unique door design straight away. The vehicle has no B-pillar, and the doors open forward, creating a very large entry aperture. Ingress and egress feel unusually open for this size of vehicle.
For my height as a six-footer, the roofline still sits low enough that I had to watch my head when getting in, and the thick door frame and foldable armrest can get in the way during entry.
Once seated, the front seat feels highly lounge-like. It slides a long distance rearward, with rails extending far back into the cabin. The seat is electrically adjustable, with the controls placed on the side.
Under-thigh support feels very strong, headroom feels just sufficient for my height, and back support feels good. The headrest feels comfortable, and the armrests provide solid support, including a separate left-side armrest for the driver rather than relying only on the door.
From the driver’s seat, outward visibility feels good, helped by large front quarter glass panels. I also noticed the doors feel unusually thick and heavily reinforced for a vehicle of this segment and application. The structural members around the opening are substantial, reminded me of armored German saloons.
Moving to the rear, the front seat can be moved forward to improve access. Rear entry feels easy once the seat shifts. The rear seat feels very comfortable, with strong back support, ample knee room, generous headroom, and very good under-thigh support.
Seat adjustment controls sit on the armrest. A fold-out centre armrest includes two cupholders that slide out from the front. The rear armrest area also includes touch-operated buttons for audio, seat heating, and seat ventilation.
Specifications
The Zeekr Mix is offered with two battery options. A 76 kWh battery provides a rated driving range of up to 342 miles (CLTC), while a larger 102 kWh battery increases the rated range to over 435 miles (CLTC).
A rear-mounted electric motor produces 422 hp (310 kW) and 440 Nm of torque. This enables acceleration from 0-62 mph in 6.8 seconds and a top speed of 112 mph.
The battery system supports ultra-fast charging. Charging from 10 to 80 per cent takes approximately 10.5 minutes for the 76 kWh battery and 15 minutes for the 102 kWh battery under suitable DC fast-charging conditions.
The Mix is equipped with an advanced driver assistance system using lidar, high-definition cameras, and millimetre-wave radar, supporting assisted driving and automated parking functions.
Price and Availability
The Zeekr Mix launched in China in summer 2024 and is currently on sale with a starting price of approximately RMB 279,900 (GBP 29,711).
