As per the parent company Stellantis’ plan of offering a battery-electric version of each of its models by 2030 in Europe, Peugeot has expanded its UK’s lineup with the e-Rifter all-electric MPV. Based on the Rifter five- and seven-seater MPV which was launched in 2018, the Peugeot e-Rifter is the fully electrified avatar. While the five-seater version can be had in two different variants of Allure Premium and GT, the seven-seater version comes only in the Allure Premium variant.
Peugeot e-Rifter Design
The e-Rifter retains the original design of the Rifter MPV, with a sleek-looking grille flanked with headlamp units that house halogen projector bulbs and LEDs. It comes with large side window panels, which come with tapered outer edges. The MPV also comes with thick side body cladding and roof rails, and alloy wheels (17-inch diamond-cut wheels in GT and 16-inch grey wheels in Allure Premium).
The rear profile of the e-Rifter has a conventional rear windscreen, with vertical tail lamps and trapezoidal housing for the license plate below the windscreen.
Peugeot e-Rifter Interior
The major highlight of the cabin of the e-Rifter is the i-cockpit design theme which does make it look very modern. It includes a Head-Up 10-inch fully digital instrument console, gaming console-like compact two-spoke multifunction steering wheel, and an 8-inch floating touchscreen infotainment system with Apple Carplay and Android Auto support.
The cabin of the Peugeot e-Rifter is being offered with two upholstery options – Quente Brown for the GT variant and Picasso Blue for the Allure Premium variant. Other noteworthy features of the MPV include automatic climate control, electric parking brake, 180-degree reverse camera, and fully adjustable second and third-row seats. A blind spot monitoring system is optional.
Peugeot e-Rifter Specifications
The Peugeot e-Rifter is brought to life by a 136 hp electric motor which is assisted by a 50 kWh battery. This powertrain is capable to pull the MPV from standstill to the 100 km/h mark in 11.2 seconds, with the top speed and maximum range rated at modest 135 kmph (83.9 mph) and 172 miles (276.8 km) respectively. It takes up to 7.5 hours for the battery of the e-Rifter to fully charge, using a 7 kW home charger. Peugeot offers a warranty of eight-year/100,000-miles for 70 per cent of its original charge capacity.
