Polestar 2 extended range

Starting with the Polestar Long range Single Motor variant, the car gets a single 170 kW producing electric motor that powers just the front wheels. According to the press release issued by the Geely-owned brand, the Long range Single Motor gets an EPA estimated range of 265 miles.

Polestar also introduced the Long range Dual Motor variant. This version is powered by a dual-motor setup that produces 300 kW of power. It gets the same 78 kWh battery pack of the Single Motor which means the range drops down to 249 miles according to EPA estimates. This, according to the press release, is still an increase of 16 miles over the 2021 cars.

Powering the motors in both variants is a 78 kWh battery pack that can charge from 0-80 percent in about 40 minutes through a 150 kW public DC fast charger. Through a standard AC outlet and a 3-phase wallbox, a 0-100 percent charge could take as much as 22 hours and 8 hours, respectively.
