Okinawa Cruiser maxi electric scooter teased before Auto Expo 2020 debut

Okinawa Scooters has teased a scooter named the Okinawa Cruiser, a maxi electric scooter that will be making is debut at the Auto Expo 2020 that opens on 5 February. The Cruiser gets a design similar to the Suzuki Burgman Street and features a new orange colour. Okinawa will also be unveiling the Oki100 electric motorcycle at the expo which it presented as a concept at the previous edition of the show.

The teaser reveals the e-scooter’s step-up seat, high floor, and rear view mirrors. The floor is not flat like most of the scooters and the battery could probably be placed there.

There is no information on the battery or power output, but being a maxi scooter, we are expecting it to offer far better performance and larger under-seat storage than the Okinawa Praise variants, considering that this style of scooter is used for long rides. Expectations are set at a riding range of 150 km/charge, a top speed of 120 km/h, disc brakes at both ends, digital instrument cluster and a detachable Lithium-Ion battery.

Okinawa currently has the Lite, PraisePro, I-Praise+, Ridge+, Ridge, Praise, Raise and Ridge30 electric scooters in its portfolio, and the Cruiser should become its flagship product. The company’s last launch was the Lite electric scooter in November 2019. Priced at Rs 59,990, Okinawa Lite gets a 1.25 kWh lithium-ion battery with a claimed range of up to 60 km in a single charge. The battery takes 4 to 5 hours to be charged completely and gets an Anti-Theft Mechanism feature.
