Mahindra eXUV300 (XUV300 electric) spotted for the first time on test

Mahindra showcased the eXUV300 at the Auto Expo 2020 along with electric vehicle concepts and production models. Now, the eXUV30 has been caught testing with some camouflage, published by TeamBHP member SKC-Auto.

The eXUV300 that Mahindra displayed at the expo was in a near-production form (if you could delete the futuristic mirrors that used rear-facing cameras) with a redesigned front. To differentiate from its ICE versions, the electric XUV300 has grilles without air dams, sleeker wraparound headlamps and blue accents on the headlamps, wheels and bumper. The interiors are similar to the regular XUV300 too but for a larger touchscreen infotainment system and a couple of new features.

The Mahindra eXUV300 is built on the Mahindra Electric Scalable and Modular Architecture 350 (MESMA 350), a 350-volt powertrain. The MESMA 350 can support several motor sizes from 60 kW to 280 kW and dual motor concepts. It can also support battery sizes up to 80 kWh.

This electric SUV will be Mahindra’s first long-range electric vehicle and can return a range of over 370 km, as confirmed by Mahesh Babu, CEO, Mahindra Electric. Mahindra will be launching the eXUV300 in mid-2021 and is expected to price the vehicle similar to Tata Nexon EV, which costs between Rs 13.99 lakh and Rs 15.99 lakh.

The interior of the XUV300 electric is differentiated with an upscale drive selector, a large pop-up AVN touchscreen, a wireless charging pad and blue textiles.

If you look at our technology, the MESMA 350 that has been displayed, it is capable of giving up to 500 km of range. We have also shown the electric XUV300, which has the capacity to run above 370 km and will be soon launched in the personal segment.
